Alumni

We are very proud of all our former students and are always interested in hearing their stories of their continued personal development, academic and vocational achievements, and employment experience, following their time at Park High.

Our current students are inspired by the valuable experience that our former students can share, helping them to focus on what path they wish to follow in their future. Miranda badminton crop

Miranda Badminton

Miranda successfully gained 10 GCSEs including 3 A* and 4 A grades. She then went to Nelson & Colne College where she achieved an A* in Sociology, A grades in Psychology and Geography and a B in English Language. Miranda is now studying Law at the University of Sheffield.

Lucy barrett 3 crop

Lucy Barrett

Lucy gained 14 GCSEs at Park High and went on to study A Levels in Geography, Media Studies and General Studies at Nelson & Colne College.

Then, at Manchester Metropolitan University, Lucy gained a BA in Geography before taking an MSc in Environmental Management.

Whilst on university placement with Stockport Homes, her work on waste management received national recognition in the Sustainability Leaders Award where she was awarded the runner-up prize.

Lucy is now an Environment Officer with the Environment Agency.

Leonie Bowers

Leonie went onto Nelson & Colne College where she achieved A grades in History, English Language and Law. She is now reading Philosophy and Politics at University of Manchester.

Matthew Burton

Matthew gained 12 GCSEs and also studied BTEC Engineering, achieving an A*. This led to his apprenticeship at Rolls Royce. 

"I started at Park in Year 8. I found it pretty easy to settle into the school and I found the teachers very easy to get on with." Read more

Jennifer Cannon

After gaining 7 A* grades at GCSE at Park High, Jennifer went to Thomas Whitham VI Form, achieving A grades in A Level Maths and Further Maths, an A grade in Physics and B grade in Philosophy. She is now at Durham University studying Physics and Astronomy. 

"Park's pastoral work and support was excellent. Park also helped the students who wanted some more revision." Read more

Sam Gugi

Former Head Boy Sam gained 1 A* and 8 A grades at GCSE and is now studying 5 A levels at Nelson & Colne College: Biology, Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Business Studies, and an additional course of Pre-Professional Medicine.

Matt Langstroth

Former Deputy Head Boy Matt achieved 8 A* and 3 A grades at GCSE. He is now studying A levels at Nelson & Colne College in Biology, Maths, Chemistry and Physics,  and an additional course of Pre-Professional Medicine.

From Park, David went to Thomas Whitham VI Form to study A Levels and gained A* in Maths, A in Further Maths and B in Physics. He is now studying Maths at Manchester University.

After Park, David got a 4 year plumbing apprenticeship with a local firm.

Cameron gained 2 A* grades, 7 A grades and 1 B grade at GCSE. He then achieved 3 Bs at A Level in Chemistry, Physics and Geography at Nelson & Colne College.
