The Queen's Commonwealth Baton Relay.

What a special occasion Friday morning has been as students from Park and neighbouring primary schools joined together for the Common Wealth Baton Relay in preparation for the forthcoming Common Wealth games. The balloon arch was back in play with a quick switch of colour to red white and blue to support Lottie Hesketh, Ethan Cothliff, Leah Harvey, Max Belshaw, Rhys Howard, Gemma Kenniford and Cameron Petty who were selected to represent Park in carrying the baton. As always it was a huge team effort though with students in Years 7, 8 and 9 out in force to line the run route to welcome the incoming (very excited and super fast) Park primary pupils for the baton handover. All eyes were then on for the all important handover..... the students nailed it (phew) and then set off on their way for Trawden, where Team Park were greeted by Team Trawden clapping and waving flags.
