Remembering the Holocaust

Thursday 27th January marks International Holocaust Memorial Day.

Although this event is studied in our History, RS and English curriculum areas, it is also remembered through our assemblies & Intrinsic PD programme, especially at this time each year.  The values of and individual liberty, mutual respect and acceptance of those of different faiths and beliefs are integral elements of our Park family ethos.  As a result, we join together with those worldwide to remember the grim reality of genocide and persecution.  The theme for 2022 is One Day to promote hope that there may be One Day in the future with no genocide and a world free from persecution. By learning more about the past, we can empathise with others today and we can take action for a better future.

At 8pm tonight, households across the UK will be lighting candles and safely putting them in their windows to:

  • remember those who were murdered for who they were
  • stand against prejudice and hatred today

Light a candle and put it in your window at 8pm on 27 January 2022 (if you are able to do so safely).
