Building structures to understand bonding...

Year 10 students have been using plasticine and cocktails sticks to construct diamond, graphite and silicon dioxide. By building a model, they were able to develop their understanding of giant covalent bonding and identify how many bonds each atom can form within their structures. Their teacher; Miss Latif then had to work out which compound they had made and this really tested the accuracy of their models!
