Geography Year 10 Manchester Visit

GCSE Geography stretches beyond the classroom!

In the last week Year 10 Geography students have enjoyed a curriculum enhancing visit to Manchester, the UK city studied at GCSE level where solutions to urban issues are considered.

Part of the course requires the understanding of how Manchester has regenerated to become a global city. To investigate students visited Salford Quays Media City to assess methods such as accommodation, jobs and transport have had on the changing city's economy.

In comparison, students completed a session on Stadium-led regeneration at Manchester City's Etihad Campus. The session, delivered by Manchester City staff was followed by an inspiring tour around the Etihad Stadium - home to the Premier League and European champions.

The Year 10 Geographers represented Colne Park High School fantastically, with several compliments on the respect, manners and attitude by the visits collaborators. Well done for the top effort Year 10!
