Palestine Visits Park!

This week, six fourteen and fifteen-year-old boys and two Palestinian teachers visited our school. The visitors are in the UK for two weeks and Park High was one of the schools they wished to visit in Pendle. Our year nine students met them in an assembly and listened as the Palestinian pupils shared their stories and personal experiences about what life is like living in a conflict zone. They shared pictures of their schools and towns, which was an eye-opening experience for many of our students, especially when they heard how hard it was for the Palestinian students to get to school. After the presentation, Park pupils had the opportunity to ask the visitors questions. They asked what it was like to travel around their land, how they felt about their loved ones being killed or arrested and what the Palestinians hoped to be when they grew up. Park pupils thoroughly enjoyed the assembly, and when asked, said they would definitely enjoy meeting them again if given the opportunity.
