Electronic Devices from September 2024

In line with Government guidance and schools nationally, our stance on Electronic Devices is changing from September 2024.

No mobile phone or associated devices, e.g. AirPods or other brand of earphone/headphones, can be ‘seen or heard’ on school site (this means as soon as the student enters the school gates)

If a mobile phone has to be brought to school for safety reasons when travelling to or away from school, it must stay in the bottom of school bags and not seen or heard anywhere on site.

If a mobile phone or associated device is seen or heard on site (inside or outside of the building) it will be confiscated and handed in at reception. The mobile phone or device will only be able to be collected by a parent/carer from Reception.

Why no mobile phones?

· To avoid students being distracted from their studies – mobile phones can often be a distraction to check social media, messages or play on games.

· To remove the risk of damage  or theft of expensive electronic items it is recommended to be kept at home.

· To reduce the potential risk of bullying - all students have the right to learn and be safe.
