  • Easter Revision Week 2 update

    Week two of Easter Revision has continued to be well attended. So far, we have had 303 students attend the revision sessions (up to and including Tuesday 9th April).

  • Year 11 Easter Revision First Day

    Great to see so many Year 11 students in for Art, French and Health & Fitness today as we kick off our Easter Revision  sessions. 

    All students must enter and sign in through reception. All sessions are taking place in teachers' usual classrooms.

    Maths on Wednesday 3rd April 9.00am and Thursday 11th April 12.00pm are in Zone 6

  • Year 11 Easter Revision School

    We have organised a comprehensive timetable of revision sessions for Year 11 over Easter. Every day there are sessions for students to attend to focus on their revision or complete coursework. Students will attend in non-uniform and must enter through the main doors in reception  signing in.

    The GCSE exams start on the 9th May and will run until the 19th June. We are really proud of the progress Year 11 are making, and we would love to see all Year 11 students attending.

    Timetables will be printed and distributed on Monday.

    Year 10 Health and Fitness focussed on the Skeletal System this week identifying the bones in the skeleton, their shape and function in sporting actions.

    After making pizza toasties in year 7, when students return in year 8, they learn how to make dough and then shape and bake it into pizzas. They learn the importance of kneading to help develop the gluten that creates a strong stretchy dough. This helps with shaping the pizza and trapping CO2 produced by the yeast when left to prove.

    Year 7 have been getting creative with their pizza toasties. They were given the option to bring in any type of bread and toppings they liked before turning them into these easy and healthy lunchtime meals.

    Year 8 have recently been making apple crumbles. Students worked on their claw and bridge method to safely prepare the fruit before learning about the rubbing in method to successfully complete the topping.

  • Muffin time.

    Year 7 made some amazing muffins last week. While many pupils bake at home, this practical allows students to understand the difference between metric and imperial measurements. They also learn the importance of measuring correctly and checking for readiness. This recipe is inspired from a restaurant in Chicago called Au Cheval and is famous for its breakfast items and doughnuts in the city.
