They have studied how crumple zones, air bags and seatbelts can reduce forces on passengers. Today, they designed a crumple zone for protect an egg if it is dropped from a height. Pictured is Mr Jackson showing how high the winning team dropped their egg, the winning egg design and the 'Dream Team'. Well done Year 9!

ASPIRE. PERFORM. ACHIEVE.
Our Year 9 B Team enjoyed a great tournament tonight winning one, losing one and drawing one game.
In our first game we drew 0-0 with Pendle Vale College after dominating the play and chances. A thunderous strike from striker Spencer Whitehouse smashed the cross bar and rose high into the air. In this game Seth Rawlinosn and Riley McDowell stood out in midfield involved in both attacking play and making important tackles. Luke Lonsdale showed that he is not just a good goalkeepr but also played the ball out well and created chances with his long clearances.
In the second game our boys won Fisher More 2-0 with goals from Jamie Sanderson and Spencer Whitehouse . Great play from defenders Bobby Morgan and Ryan Cowley limited Fisher More to no shots on target.
In our final game we fell behind to an early goal against Primet and despite numerous attacks and chances that fell to Isaac Pickles and Spencer Whitehouse the lads could not beat the Primet goalkeeper.
A great night of football helping to build up the excitement for Englands World Cup game tonight.
