Personal Development Day 4
Tuesday 18th March, another amazing PD Day!
Our 4th Personal Development (PD) Day was a tremendous success, filled with a variety of enriching activities for all year groups.
Year 11: Focused on revision study skills, our dedicated Maths, English, and Science teachers provided invaluable support to help students prepare for their upcoming GCSEs. Pupils learned a range of effective revision techniques to use at home, ensuring they are well-equipped for their exams.
Year 10: The majority of students participated in workplace encounters, gaining real-world experience.
Those who remained in school attended insightful talks and workshops from esteemed organisations such as the Royal Air Force, British Army, Media Village: Creative Marketing & Branding Agency, Eric Wright Construction, and Morrisons (Woodhead Bros Meat Co).
Year 9: Students embarked on their practice Bronze Duke of Edinburgh expedition. It was a beautiful sunny day, and all participants demonstrated great ambition and teamwork. Many completed the walk quickly, showcasing excellent navigation skills.
Year 8: Half of the day was spent engaging with the community. Students worked with our trust primary schools, Lord Street and Laneshaw Bridge, assisting Key Stage 1 students with reading and craft tasks based on Paddington Bear.
Other Year 8 groups also helped maintain Ball Grove park with Pendle Council Green Spaces and participated in activities with CYAG, our local youth action group. The remaining half of the day students covered statutory RSHE topics.
Year 7: Celebrated the Hindu festival of Holi with a variety of cultural activities. Students enjoyed cultural dance, block t-shirt printing with mandala designs, henna art, and concluded the day with our vibrant annual colour run.
The day was a huge success, and a huge thank you to all of our students for showing the trust values of Ambition, Respect, and Collaboration. We also appreciate the hard work and commitment of our Park High School staff. Lastly, thank you to all of the local organisations for helping make yesterday a resounding success.
