Year 5 Transition

Year 5 Transition

Year 5 is the perfect time to begin exploring secondary school options, especially during the autumn term.
Visiting schools early allows families to get a sense of the environment, values, and opportunities each school offers. Attending open evenings and open days is a great way to experience the atmosphere firsthand, ask questions, and start building a shortlist for more focused visits in Year 6.

We warmly invite you to join us for our Autumn Term Open Evening—a chance to see our school in action, meet our staff and students, and discover what makes our community special. Keep an eye out for the date—we’d love to welcome you!

Year 5 Discovery Days

During the summer term, once our Year 11 students have completed their exams, we invite Year 5 pupils from local primary schools to spend a day with us at Park High School.
This is a fantastic opportunity to experience a day in the life of a Park High student—exploring our facilities, taking part in exciting lessons, and getting a real feel for our school community.

It’s also a great chance to meet pupils from other primary schools and connect with members of the Park High School family.

Each primary school will be given a designated date for their visit, and the Discovery Day will be open to all Year 5 pupils.
While attendance is optional, we believe it’s such a fun, engaging, and memorable experience that every pupil will want to take part.

Information about the date your child’s primary school will be invited to visit Park will be shared directly via the primary school during the spring term.
If you haven’t received any communication by the May half-term break, please don’t hesitate to get in touch—either with your child’s primary school or directly with me at Park using the email address below:
