This girl can!
Year 9 take part in an active day.
On Thursday 15 Year 9 girls attended a 'This Girl Can' event run by the Lancashire School Games Partnership. The pupils travelled to Roefield Sports Centre in Clitheroe and were introduced to a number of new sports showing determination, resilience and teamwork.
Yoga was our first sport and once the giggles stopped the pupils made some great progress and learnt how yoga has a number of health benefits when taking part. Our second sport was an orienteering treasure hunt based around the grounds of the sports centre with a Disney theme, with one of our teams coming 3rd out of 10 teams, it showed a great level of knowledge of map reading and eagerness to succeed. Volleyball was the girls' favourite and final sport where all involved learnt a number of rules and techniques to ensure a full game could be played. Well Done to all the pupils involved.
