Sam Midgley Conquers Ultra Marathon for Charity

A feat of endurance, resilience and heart!
In an awe-inspiring feat of endurance and heart, Park High Student, Sam Midgley, has completed a 36-mile ultra marathon around Pendle and Burnley, raising vital funds for Pendleside Hospice. Sam is passionate about this cause and wanted to play his part in fundraising for a vital and much-needed and underfunded local service.
Clocking in at an impressive 7 hours and 40 minutes, Sam not only finished the gruelling course—he came in first place. Last year, Sam was pipped to the post but said, “This year I wanted to fix that". And “fix that” he certainly did.
The challenge tested every ounce of his resilience and determination, with steep climbs and unpredictable terrain pushing him to his limits. Yet Sam remained focused, driven by the cause and his personal goal. Sam broke from other runners and found himself alone for 13 full miles.
“I’m proud of what I achieved, but I’m already thinking about how to beat my time next year.”
His achievement has inspired many, proving that with grit and purpose, incredible things are possible. Congratulations Sam.
