Resilient performance from U15 girls footballers

Park beat Haslingden High School to progress to the next round

The U15 girls’ football team produced a fantastic display to claim a 2-0 win over Haslingden High School on Tuesday and progress into the next round of the English Cup.

From the first whistle, the match was an intense and physical battle, with both teams working hard and creating chances. Park’s defence stood strong under pressure, with Gracie making vital saves and delivering accurate kicks to relieve pressure, while the midfield battled tirelessly to win possession and drive the team forward.

With just 15 minutes left on the clock, the lone striker Martha showed great composure to finally break the deadlock, slotting home to give Park the lead. Haslingden pushed hard for an equaliser, but Park held their ground and looked dangerous on the counter. In the final moments of the game, Martha struck again to double the advantage and seal the victory.

The whole squad played with determination, teamwork, and resilience, showing real character against tough opposition. A massive well done to all the girls – a brilliant result that sees Park through to the next round of the competition!
