Year 8 football victory

Year 8 keep 100% league record
Year 8 played their 2nd league game of the season on Monday, away to Marsden Heights, and kept up their unbeaten start. A quick start to the game saw Max Metcalfe head us in front after only 31 seconds only for Marsden to equalise a minute later. Further goals from Max, Joey Smith and Alfie Crabtree saw us lead 4-1 at half time despite losing Riley Phair to injury. In the second half some good defending from Jonathan Birtwistle, Lewis Thompson, Harry Vickery and James Hindle meant goalkeeper Oscar WIlliams was rarely troubled as Marsden failed to score.
At the other end some good play from Charlie Hardacre and Lennox Kendall and further goals from Oscar Mulligan (2) and 2 more from Joey Smith to complete his hat trick meant the final score finished 8-1.
An excellent performance from the boys who all showed a superb attitude to the game tonight, well done to all involved.
