Dominant doubles!

Last week was doubles badminton week with both the U14 and U16 Girls, Boys and Mixed doubles tournaments.

In the U16 Park pupils were champions of both tournaments with Imogen Taylor and Hannah Beebe winning the girls and Will Crossley and Arthur Gorman the boys.

In the U14's Ava Garner and Scarlett Bannister were champions in the girls and in the boys there were semi final appearances for Iva Mfecane with Dylan Cox and Shah Khan with Louie Johnson.

The final tournaments this year were the mixed doubles and Park pupils almost made up the entire semi final line up.  In the U14 Heidi Robinson and Dylan Cox made the semi final but lost to another Park paired in Scarlett Bannister and Louis Johnson.  In the other semi final Ava Garner and Shah Khan defeated a pair from Fishermore before going on to win the final to become Pendle champions.

In the U16 event there were 4 Park pairs in the semi final. Kara Turner and Jack Devine defeated Isla Holgate and Sam Carr with Imogen Taylor and Will Crossley beating Martha Pearson and Artur Gorman in the other.  In a competitive final Imogen and Will were victorious and are Pendle champions.

There have been some brilliant performances in the tournaments with a number of pupils representing school for the first time.  A huge well done to each and every pupil that has taken part.
