U14 Girls English Schools Football

Park High 1 - John Smeaton Academy 1 (Park win 3-1 on penalties!)
The U14 Girls faced John Smeaton Academy in Round 3 of the English Schools Cup, playing in challenging wet and windy conditions that made football difficult for both teams.
Despite the weather, we applied constant pressure throughout the match but were unable to fully capitalise on several promising attacks. The breakthrough eventually came through Lottie, who scored directly from a well-delivered corner to give Park the lead.
Emily was a standout performer, showcasing her versatility by playing effectively across both the wing and central midfield. She continued to demonstrate an excellent work ethic and determination, contributing significantly to the team’s performance.
John Smeaton equalised with only five minutes remaining, taking the tie to a tense penalty shootout. In the shootout, Gracie demonstrated her quality in goal, producing two crucial saves to help us secure a 3-1 victory.
With this result, Park High progress to Round 4 of the English Schools Cup, joining the final 64 teams remaining in the national competition. An excellent achievement for the squad.
