Girls progress in the Lancashire Cup
The U14 girls have had a busy and successful autumn term, adding another fantastic result with an 8–2 win away at Mount Carmel in the Lancashire Cup.
After reaching the last 32 in the English Cup, Park travelled to Accrington full of confidence — and it showed from the first whistle. The girls dominated possession, showcased their technical ability, and found key passes to put Mount Carmel under pressure early on. Three goals in the opening 15 minutes set the tone, with Park heading into half-time 4–0 up.
At half-time, the message was clear: continue with intensity and improve communication. The girls responded brilliantly by scoring two quick goals straight after the restart. Mount Carmel showed great resilience and pulled two goals back. The reintroduction of Maisie helped Park regain full control, as she added her name to the scoresheet and helped seal an emphatic victory.
Emily was one of the standout performers — a versatile player who has contributed both defensively and in attack throughout the season. Her work rate, understanding of the game, and goal were key to the team’s success. A special mention also goes to Betsy, whose consistent communication, key tackles, and precise passing in midfield gave the team confidence throughout the match. The goals came from Lottie (2), Poppy (2), Olivia, Betsy, Maisie & Emily.
Well done to all the girls on progressing to the next round of the Lancashire Cup, where they will face Balshaws. These performances continue to make the school proud.
