Year 7 Lancashire Cup football

Fantastic performance from Year 7 football team.
Year 7 took part in the First Round, Group Stage, of the Lancashire Cup on Friday after school. It involved a round robin tournament against Primet and Fishermore, played at Fishermore.
In the first game we faced Primet and following our recent league win against them the players were confident of success. However, a much improved Primet team put up a fight and had some early chances with goal keeper Charlie Fowler in fine form to keep Primet out. However, once Josh Morley gave us the lead we settled and quickly scored again through Lottie Smith. A further goal in the 2nd half from Oscar Hardacre gave us a 3-0 win.
With Fishermore then beating Primet by the same scoreline it meant a winner takes all final game against the hosts.
In this game the team were absolutely outstanding. They put the opposition under constant pressure both with and without the ball and looked dangerous every time we went forward. Inevitably we took the lead, Mason Sharples scoring before creating another for Oscar Hardacre and we never looked back. Tom Bradbury and Mason Boothman were solid at the back and Mason Singleton's forward runs were causing problems. Jacob Dowd showed brilliant footwork to score a great goal, Oscar Hardacre completed his hat trick and and Josh Morley scored a well deserved goal to make the final score 6-1. An absolutely outstanding team performance from start to finish, a huge well done to everyone.
