Year 7 PD Day

A super day out in the community for our Year 7 students!

Our Year 7 students were a true credit to the school during today's PD Day 5 Community Day, demonstrating outstanding behaviour, maturity and enthusiasm throughout a busy and rewarding day of learning and community engagement.

The day was carefully designed to provide students with valuable personal development opportunities, with activities split between in-school workshops and community-based visits.

During the morning sessions, students took part in a range of important workshops that encouraged reflection, discussion and personal growth. Topics included mental health and wellbeing, managing friendships, understanding different types of families, and vaping awareness. These sessions provided students with the knowledge and skills needed to make informed decisions, build positive relationships and develop a greater understanding of the world around them.

In the second half of the day, students put our school values into action by engaging with organisations and projects within the local community. Students visited CYAG, worked alongside Pendle Council at Ball Grove Park, and spent time supporting learning activities at two of our Trust primary schools, Lord Street Primary School and Laneshaw Bridge Primary School.

The community visits gave students the opportunity to develop their confidence, teamwork and communication skills while making a positive contribution beyond the classroom. Staff at each location were impressed by the students' positive attitudes, willingness to get involved and exemplary behaviour.

We are incredibly proud of our Year 7 students, who represented the school exceptionally well throughout the day. Their enthusiasm, respect for others and commitment to making a difference embody the values we strive to promote every day.

A huge thank you to all staff, community partners and organisations who helped make PD Day 5 Community Day such a success. Most importantly, congratulations to our Year 7 students for being outstanding ambassadors for the school and the wider community.
