Year 8 football success

Following last weeks defeat to Fishermore the Year 8 team returned to action, determined to get back to winning ways.  

On a windy night we played with the wind in our favour in the first half and put in a dominant performance.  Despite the conditions the players moved the ball well and created a number of chances with both Oliver Martindale and Will James delivering dangerous crosses into the box and going into half time was led 6-0.

In the second half the wind was even stronger but we kept the ball on the floor well and defended our goal to give George Hopkinson little to do.  Imogen Taylor and Ryan Cowley controlled the midfield, Hannah Beebe and Lewis Stephens gave us a threat going forward, and Lexie Phair was a constant menace up front as more goals in the 2nd half meant we finished as 9-1 winners.  Goals came from Jack McFadyen (3), Ehtan Cothliff (2), Sam Hilton, Oliver Ormerod, Jamie Thompson and an own goal.
