Thank you to Mr Fowler & his ‘stunt stool’ for a #BritishScienceWeek assembly. He conducted a variety of impressive experiments that wowed the younger students in the Trust
After much deliberation (and attempted bribery), our Student Leadership team have selected the winning staff World Book Day team! Huge congratulations to our wonderful admin team- a round of bacon sandwiches for you!
Year 8 have started their next D&T rotation in the kitchen by making pizzas. Building on their previous learning of making pizza toasties and showing off their knife skills.
Students have been conducting an experiment looking at enzymic browning and how to slow down the reaction. Pre-prepared fruits and vegetables are popular choices in the supermarket and researching ways to preserve the food we eat while keeping its quality is a constant challenge for the food industry.
On Friday, thirty one of our highest achieving Year 11 students attended the 2025 Pendle Learning Partnership’s Grade 9 Conference hosted by Nelson & Colne College.
As a collective of local schools, we believe in providing highly tailored activities to ensure students are given the best possible chance to make progress over time. The conference included an introduction from Nelson and Colne College, a keynote speaker from Barclays Bank, and a tour of various areas of the College, as well as sessions dedicated to English, Maths and Science led by outstanding practitioners from the local attending schools, including our very own Miss Cassells, Mr Metcalfe and Mr Hughes.
The students received advice and tips on how to aim for and achieve the highest grades in those subjects, particularly focusing on exam technique. A perfect example of ambition.
At Park High School, we celebrate students who embody our learning habits and values both inside and outside the classroom. Park Points are awarded to those who demonstrate these qualities, and each week, the top five students with the most Park Points receive the Park Point Award!
๐ Congratulations to this week’s winners! ๐
Each week, students earn credits in every subject for actively engaging in lessons and producing outstanding work. At the end of the week, the Student of the Week award is presented to the top two students in each house who have received the highest number of credits.
A huge congratulations to this week’s Student of the Week winners!
Parents@Park 07.03.25 is now updated and live for the week ahead.
Our Year 11 Health and Fitness students have been busy putting together their Training Programmes as part of their Synoptic Project. This year they have benefited from using our new Fitness Room facility.
The room includes spin bike, rowing machine, smith machine, seated chest press machine, lat pull down machine, leg curl machine, leg press machine and free weights.
As part of National Careers Week, the career ambassadors and Miss Barker organised a variety of engaging activities for students to take part in during break time. These included games such as 'Match the teacher with their first job', 'Charades', 'Match the job to the correct salary' and also 'Career facts and Myths'. Our students thoroughly enjoyed the activities! Chocolate treats were given out as prizes.
