  • Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Expedition

    Published 05/07/26

On Thursday and Friday, we took our second (first!) expedition cohort of Year 9 pupils on their final expedition. The students were outstanding and staff could not sing their praises high enough during the walk and on the campsite.

They have shown resilience, collaboration and true determination to complete their expedition. After an evening in their own beds, we hope students reflect on the memories they have created over the last couple of days.

We also want to thank the staff for giving up their valuable time to support this.

We look forward to our re-arranged first expedition on Monday and Tuesday next week!

  • Summer Talent Show

A fantastic celebration of talent, creativity and confidence!

What a night! Our Summer Talent Show was a fantastic celebration of the talent, creativity and confidence of our students, and we could not have been prouder of everyone who took part. We were absolutely thrilled with the brilliant attendance on the evening, with families, friends, staff and members of our school community filling the space and creating a wonderfully warm, supportive atmosphere from the very first performance to the final applause.

The evening showcased an incredible range of talent from across Park High School, with singers, dancers and musicians stepping into the spotlight and sharing their skills with a hugely appreciative audience. Our fantastic student presenters also played a starring role, guiding us through the show with confidence, humour and professionalism and helping to keep the whole evening running with energy and style.

Beyond the stage, the evening was also a wonderful celebration of creativity across our school community. Guests were able to enjoy an exhibition of fantastic student artwork and visit our craft stall, while our charity raffle helped to raise funds in support of Pendleside Hospice. These elements added even more to the sense of occasion and helped make the evening a true showcase of the creativity, generosity and community spirit that we are so proud of at Park.

One of the things that made the evening particularly special was the variety of students involved. Some were experienced performers who are already at home on the stage, while others were taking a huge leap of confidence and performing in front of an audience for the very first time. Every single student rose to the occasion. Whether singing, dancing, playing an instrument, presenting or showcasing their creative work, they showed courage, commitment and enthusiasm, and each of them did themselves incredibly proud.

Of course, events like this are about far more than what happens under the stage lights. They give our students opportunities to build confidence, express themselves creatively, support one another and experience the excitement of being part of something bigger. Seeing students encourage each other behind the scenes, celebrate one another’s successes and share their talents with such a supportive audience was every bit as important as the performances themselves.

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the event. The fantastic turnout helped create a real sense of occasion and showed our students just how strongly their school community is behind them. Your applause, encouragement and support helped make the evening one to remember.

The curtain may have come down on our Summer Talent Show, but we are already looking ahead! In the new academic year, we will begin planning what we hope will be our biggest-ever Christmas Show, bringing together even more of our talented students for a spectacular celebration of performance, creativity and the arts at Park High School.

After a night like this, we cannot wait to see what comes next!
