Published 25/09/26This Wednesday, Miss Barker took some of our Year 8 students to St Peters Centre, Burnley for Workplace Wednesday! Students had the opportunity to explore the building and learn about the wide range of roles and careers available within the centre. They asked some fantastic questions and showed great enthusiasm throughout the visit.
A big thank you to the staff at St Peters Centre for hosting this week’s workplace Wednesday visit. We really appreciate your time and support, and we look forward to returning!

Year 7 have been focusing on Sequences, Year 10 have been looking at triangles including trigonometry and Year 11 have hit the ground running working well on Graphs

Published 24/09/26In year 7, students make pizza toasties. So, in year 8, they will build on that knowledge by making the pizza dough and learning about the function yeast and gluten play in bread production. They can then improve on their toasties by adding new ingredients and learning how to shape the dough.

Published 24/09/26Following on from their success at the couscous salad, year 7 have been putting their knife skills to use and making pizza toasties. Leaning how to grate food and use the grill safely, pupils could pick what bread and toppings they wanted to experiment with to make a tasty lunch time meal.

Published 24/09/26Year 10 took their chicken legs and wings this week and marinaded them in a BBQ sauce before roasting. They then charred some sweetcorn before adding spices and mixing with boiled rice.

Published 18/09/26Each week, students earn credits in every subject for actively engaging in lessons and producing outstanding work. At the end of the week, the Student of the Week award is presented to the top students in each house who have received the highest number of credits.

Published 17/09/26This week, we welcomed three different colleges into school for our lunchtime drop-in sessions: Burnley College, Myerscough College and Nelson & Colne College. Students from every year group had the opportunity to come along, chat with the colleges and find out more about their options for life after school. It was fantastic to see so much enthusiasm, curiosity and some brilliant questions from our students. A huge thank you to Ella, Azz and Paul for taking the time to speak with our students and help them to explore what their next steps could look like if they were to join their college. A big thank you to all of the colleges who have supported us this week. It’s been great to see our students engaging with different opportunities.
