Primary school pupils enjoy a Trampoline taster session
We are so overwhelmingly proud of our Year 10 students who are this week completing their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Expedition. Many of them have already walked over 20 miles over 2 days around our beautiful local countryside. They have shown fantastic resilience walking in heavy rain and navigating their way around some tricky footpaths. They have collaborated well in their groups and have mastered tent assembly (and disassembly!) as well as cooking some (yummy) meals on gas stoves outside.
We hope they have a well-earned rest this evening, they thoroughly deserve it! We can't wait to support the rest of our Year 10 students through their expedition tomorrow and Friday and hope they have their raincoats and rucksacks ready for off! Stand by for more updates.
Our resident food scientist and gastronomist and former Michelin starred chef Mr Rigby-Wilson talking the chemistry of honeycomb with our STEM Ambassadors. When do staff receive samples please?!

Year 10 visited Burnley College today, to sample some of the amazing courses they offer and to support our students in making informed decisions for their post 16 pathway. Students enjoyed sessions ranging from Criminology and Forensics to Construction and Engineering, E Sports to Travel and Tourism. They had an amazing time and has certainly got them thinking about their next steps!
Year 5 students from our local schools have thoroughly enjoyed their taster sessions in Science this week as part of Park High Discovery Days. They have been testing household chemicals to see whether they are acidic, alkaline or neutral using a natural indicator. They were then wowed with the Rainbow Fizz Demonstration. They worked safely and collaborated brilliantly in their groups; it was a pleasure to have them.

Year 9 students have been studying Forces and many of them have had the opportunity to design a bottle rocket. They then used out bottle rocket launchers to launch them and watch them fly (and fall!). They have had great fun whilst developing their understanding of Forces and Pressure. Great work Year 9!
