The Maths department have launched a competition to celebrate Pi Day 2022 (March 14th). Students will have a week to try to recite as many digits of Pi as they can. Prizes and House points will be awarded to the best in class on March 21st.
Can anyone match the world record of 70, 030 digits?
Students in Year 9 have been continuing with the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award Scheme as part of our Personal Development Day today. One of their sessions was First Aid; they have been learning how to deal with bleeding. They have covered severe bleeding, shock, minor bleeding, nose bleeds and embedded foreign objects. They had lots of fun dealing with first aid scenarios and using dressings and triangular bandages as part of their treatment.
Year 10 have been left inspired by The Apprentice finalist Adam Corbally. An amazing start to the Enterprise Day run in conjunction with Burnley College.

Our Year 10 GCSE Art students are really enjoying their exploration of their individual sustained projects. Ashleigh Salmons has created an amazing artist study looking closely at the work of Mark Powell and replicating his work through using biro pen techniques. Well done Ashleigh, your work is outstanding!

6 teams battle it out in a very competitive Basketball tournament!
Year 9's unbeaten season in the league continued with a 3-1 win away at Marsden Heights. Two first have goals from Rhys Howard and Connor Smith (both pictured) set the team up for the victory.
Impressive centre backs Liam Hopkinson and Josh Morley (pictured) dominated the game. Special mention to Marcus Cowley, who although did nt score, came very close hitting the bar and post after break away counter-attacks in the second half.
Move of the game came direct from goalkeeper Alex Byrne (pictured) , whose accurate long clearance found Rhys Howard who skilfully lobbed the Marsden Heights keeper.

Year 11 will play the next round of the Lancashire Cup away at Rossall on Tuesday this week.
