  • Business Enterprise Students

    Business

    Our Young Enterprise are hard at work designing the marketing documentation for their business Hive-Mindz.

    Hive-Mindz is focussing on making environmentally friendly bee homes for people to place in their gardens. With the support from the Young Enterprise Project and one of our very own student apiarist, students are developing their skills in business entrepreneurship, advertising and financing to showcase their product at the Company Programme Lancashire Showcase in April 2024.

    The eco-friendly bee homes will be available to buy within the new year.

  • Year 11 B team runners-up

    Tonight our Year 11 B Team  participated in an excellent tournament at Fisher More.  The team finished the tournament unbeaten with three wins and two draws to finish as runners-up.

    The goals were spread around the team. Bobby Byker (2), Elliot Pickles, Sam Garner, Oliver Sanderson, Joshua Greenwood and Kasim Nevison all managing to get on the score sheet. 

    Isaac Foxcoft was outstanding in goal only conceding two goals in the five games. He was supported in defence by the Joshua Wright and Max Kibble. A hardworking midfield including Lucas Allen and Dylan Bignall managed to dominate possession in every game. Mr Allen was so proud of the team in their final tournament.

These are examples of student's work, exploring design concepts and safe working practices.

    A method of joining, usually electrical components, by heating a filler metal called solder. When the solder cools, it fuses the components together. Students learn the theory and safety of soldiering before putting it into practice. They have created amazing safety and instruction posters as guides to aid them.
