The year 10 ASDAN group visited Accrington's Carer's café as part of the community module last week.
As part of their identity project some Year 9 Art pupils went to the National Museum of Coal mining on Friday to view a portrait exhibition that aimed to capture the character and emotion of past miners. Pupils were then lucky enough to meet two of the artists and learn more about their use of materials and techniques. Pupils were then inspired to create their own art work in what was a hugely successful workshop. What a fantastic opportunity for the pupils. Some fantastic work was produced.

Year 10 had a long journey to Heysham to play Ripley St Thomas Church of England Academy in the Lancashire Cup. The game was played in very windy conditions and our boys conceded just before half-time after dominating the first half.
Park High attacks continued in the second half and despite the one way traffic the lads failed to convert their chances. A tactical switch moving centre forward Rhys Howard to centre back alongside Liam Hopkinson allowed the team to play a very high line and dominate play. Bartosz Jagiello continued to impress in central midfield creating chances for Connor Smith and Callum Scott.
Second half substitute Marcus Cowley worked hard and was a constant threat to the Ripley St Thomas defence. With 5 minutes to go Marcus was brought down in the area and awarded a penalty, The brave striker got up to take the penalty himself which was finely saved by the Ripley St Thomas keeper.
Although the final result 1-0 to Ripley St Thomas was disappointing for the lads they battled hard in the difficult weather conditions showing resilience and a great team spirit.
Our lads finished the tournament with two wins, two draws and one defeat.
Pendle Vale 1-0 win
Marsden Heights 1-0 win
Primet 0-0 draw
Fisher More 1-1 draw
West Craven 1-0 loss
Some great football on the night was capped off with the goal of the tournament from Connor Smith lobbing the Marsden Heights goalkeeper from the half way line.
Year 10 GCSE Art students have been enjoying exploring the work of Marica Baldwin. Miss Hooper is really impressed with her groups use of oil pastel techniques.

Mrs Beebe has focussed the themed area in The Sanctuary and Learning Support around Remembrance Day for all our SEND students.
