Parkrun is a free, community event where you can walk, jog, run, volunteer or spectate. Burnley junior parkrun is a 2km run held at Towneley Park every Sunday morning. It is dedicated to 4-14 year olds and their families. To run, all you need to do is register on the parkrun website and print (or save on your mobile phone) and barcode to show at the finish. Then, turn up for the warm-up by the large park anat 8:50am on a Sunday.
There is no time limit and no one finishes last. Everyone is welcome to come along whatever your pace and parents can run alongside children.
If you're feeling more confident or aged over 14, parkruns for anyone are held at Towneley Park and Holt House every Saturday morning at 9:00am. Again, just register for free, bring your barcode and run/jog or walk for fun.
Some of our students have represented The Scouting Association today in St. George's Day Parades across our area. In Burnley, the parade at Towneley Park saw Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers marching up to the Hall to salute the Mayor and hear a short presentation about St. George's Day. It is wonderful to see that so many of our students take part in such a variety of activities outside school and see the pride they have in what they do.
Over 370 Year 11 students attended study sessions in school over the Easter Holidays. All students that attended were included in a prize draw for a £25 Amazon Voucher. The winners were Lili Marsden, Sophie Webb and Alisha Butler.
